99.9% of movies and tv shows made after 2012 are garbage
hollywood was much better pre 2012.

laurel and hardy, chaplin, the three stooges, the marx brothers, boris karloff, bela lugosi, vincent price, katherine hepburn, jerry lewis, charlton heston, barbara eden, charles bronson, clint eastwood, arnold schwarzenegger, sylvester stallone, jerry seinfeld, liam neeson, jim carrey, ewan mcgregor. hollywood was great.

now everything is either woke slop, marvel slop, a reboot, or superhero slop.

of course a few movies and shows post 2012 are good, like oppenheimer, 1917, better call saul. but these are exceptions that dont disprove the rule.

Entertainment exist to generate cash from you and to make you happy enough to go to work next morning, without questioning why we have the structures we do.
Movies/Tv Shows quality has defintely declined severly after 2023.

Especially TV Shows, fewer episodes, more cancellations after 1 season. Highly acclaimed shows cancelled abruptly after couple seasons.

It's all about viewership, ratings and production cost vs turnover revenues for these production companies in today's world, If they feel they don't have enough viewers they just cancel it out right. What these companies don't seem to realise is, if they actually make something good, then finish it. it will generate revenue in the long run as more audiances discover it.

Sopranos and The Wire were the last good shows I saw on TV. Believe it or not, I never bought a TV since - not through all my years of renting, and not now, when I've a house and could afford however many 1000s of TVs.

I watch the 'highlights' of the latest TV shows on youtube to get a sense of how bad things have gone.

Sometimes the woke is so woke it's vindictive-woke (Star Wars Acolyte). Other times it's cack-handed woke (She Hulk 'attorney at law', in case you missed that she's got brains and brawn).

Then the Mary Sue fest - the latest Alien, where the girl in the young woman's body can beat the crap out of aliens, then control them an so on. Is invincible, saves the hapless male etc etc

Everything is boring. The males are weak, especially if they're white. Or one-note evil, if they're old and white.

The women have no character flaws, because you know what a character flaw would imply, don't you?

It would suggest that women are human, see, and they're actually superhuman, get it?

Even the kids movies have agendas coming out their ears, with the latest lion king movie, and the evil white blue-eyed lion pack. Because guess whose evil?

Nod your stupid heads now and say it with me: 'Anything that is white and has blue eyes is a villian'.

Anyway, we all know the real issue here is that there's too much 'spotlight' on Western TV/movies. They couldn't even show Dorothy in the latest Wicked movie, in case a white girl might steal the show from the 'diverse' cast - of another fictional tale written by a white guy.

You can't have it going back to the 'good old days'.

Not via the standard avenues.

But you can via AI. It's why 'they' hate it - you know who I'm talking about. They hate it without even thinking 'is it actually killing art'.

Exact opposite. Think about it.

It won't matter if you're black, white, hispanic, asian, indian etc - you'll be able to write whatever story you want, with whatever cast you want.

And we're all equal, right? You don't need to keep taking stories written by white people and turning them into a DEI-fest, where no one's white (except the villain). You can write your own story and have the AI realise it, sans the need for funds.

Some people really need to look elsewhere than JUST big productions.
