NEW: The 71-year-old audience member who was arrested at Charlie Kirk’s UVU event says he told cops he shot Kirk to distract police so the real shooter could escape.

“I shot him, now shoot me,” George Zinn allegedly said immediately after Kirk was shot.

While speaking to investigators, Zinn said he was trying to “draw attention from the real shooter.”

Zinn was charged with obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.

While Zinn was at the hospital, the Utah Department of Public Safety says an FBI Agent and an Agent from the Utah State Bureau of Investigation met with Zinn, who agreed to speak with them. During that interview, the agents asked Zinn to look at his phone, which he agreed to, but warned them that he uses the phone to view child sex abuse material.

Those agents found the images that Zinn referred to and asked the Utah County Special Victims Unit to take over the matter.

Seems unrelated and rather odd to me.

The only logic reason for a pedo to defend the shooter (if related) would be seeing or assuming the shooter was a youth and wanted to protect / take the fall for it instead (factoring in also their age), rather than see that youth's future be affected?

There's no other connection between the two knowing each other or anything?

I've found no information about him being left wing, that's just another assumption of MAGA.
