*whispers* I really like the newer Ubisoft games mentioned.
it's not so much the games they make, good ideas with bad implementation, but rather company policy. nice example GR BP from UBI. good game with lousy servers...and online duty which very often makes it unplayable
Bethesda would be on my list as well, they make decent games but support after the release is atrocious. Zero commitment on fixing their games, only mod community make their game survive this long.
Every now and then you get something fun and unique like Immortals Fenix, but typically their games are not interesting at all to me. I still think the first Far Cry is the the most fun, ... although I also liked Primal a lot.
They've also become "woke", so they can't do anything [good] with their military franchises, since it clashes with their new ideology. Unless they decide to make republicans and Christians the enemy in the games, which would not surpirse me at all. However, i'm not sure the average Tom Clancy fan would enjoy that idea, of playing a skinny pansexual vegan malnourished soyboy preaching to you throughout the game ... that's what we have games journalists for.
Could not have said it better…you basically summed up everything wrong with Ubisoft
Activision
EA
Tencent
Square Enix (Basically just EA Japan)
Ubisoft
Konami (Bascially just Ubisoft Japan)
Far cry has some improvement each game
CoD is just modded Quake 3 with maybe some kind of gunplay change, or movement change every three games
And also I never heard Ubisoft mistreating their devs, but I think the main reason to hate them is because of their ♥♥♥♥ drm launcher
Other than that they would have been fine in my book
If you bought up loot boxes, gambling, Greedy CEO's, workers being overworked, companies going woke or something along them lines then I could see you point. But pointing out games you don't like isn't any reason at all.
I haven't played a game by EA or Activision in like 20 years, so Iunno.
Ubisoft was legit AF until not that long ago. The first several Ass Creed games, XIII, Child of Light, Splinter Cell Conviction, just a lot of great games. But then for some reason, the second Unity happened, the games just all at once got terrible and boring.
they don't make... gamedev ...like they used ta!
That being said, I'm having fun with FC6. If nothing else it was enjoyable to watch them drag themselves back to Steam all "Take us back, Gaaaaaabe"
