Intredasting. Why would a black woman be cast to play a Macedonian Greek woman?

Already a thread on this...

But yes... it is the lowest rated show in history... garbage in, garbage out.

Yet more disposable trash from Netflix. I couldn't find anything to watch after browsing 15 minutes, it was all shallow storytelling.

Did Bud Light or Miller Lite sponsor the show?

The film industry has sucked for the past decade, why are you guys still surprised when a show tanks
Because Americans can only think in white and black, then they decide which one of those two should play brown roles.

That being said, the actress is actually not black, she´s interacial, half-black half-indian... yeah I know that amounts to anything if she still looks like a black american woman regardless, but that´s the thing, that´s how Americans think brown people are made "you mix a little bit of white with a little bit of black". Meanwhile, the whole ancient world was rule and made by brown people lol.

Also, Cleopatra wasn´t greek, she´s born in Egypt and is the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty. her ancestors were Macedonians, she was not.

With all this being said, let´s also get something clear: Nobody, NOBODY cares when all white movies cast Mexicans as Spaniards and Argentinians as Cubans... same with the middle east. The whole mediterranean and norther Africa area has always being downplayed and poorly casted on hollywood, this cast is not less racist or stupid than when they casted Elizabeth Taylor. It´s just more loud because it´s a black person.

So, in that sense, you can see why American producers want to use more black actors/actresses overall. But don´t get confused, just becase America is, veeeery slowly, accepting that black people have being living in the continent for over pretty much the exact same 100 years that white people has, that doesn´t mean they are suddenly gonna learn about geography, history, or anything that it´s not a fantazied version of what they think "ye old continent" was, and that includes thinking everyone in Europe is super white, because when your ancestors are mostly Brits (who recently made a new king and I don´t think much of the gold they use for it was earned and not just stole from other countries) and Germans (you know, the people who started the previous two world wars, those timeless classics), it´s only normal you are a little bit biggot.

This is one of those cases where Netflix should have done better research for certain.
LOL.

Stick with logical stuff, like real life anime adaptations.
Wait...No.

Seriously, Netflix makes good shows at times, but they've been dropping the ball recently.
And what does Bud Light have to do with casting a Black woman here? LOL wut.
Someone did not get the memo at what Bud Light did.

And I bet they won't learn.

A hefty score of 1.1 from 42k reviews.

That should tell us everything. But the thing is, this means that it will be remember to eternity.
It can get higher with time ofc and if that happens it might go higher than some of the others, we have ones that are 1.3 and 1.6 as well

I wonder how many people are hate watching though. And it's still a glorified documentary, so even terrible viewership is still probably good.

That´s probably the funniest thing of all. It´s not even a show, and people seem to care as it was a movie or something LOL

It´s just one of those terrible cheap documentaries using the costumes from TV shows like Xena and Hercules lol Nobody gave a sh**t qwhen they did a similar crappy documentary on piracy and they hired white people to play the Conquistadors LOL

It´s so clear this is just one of the million examples of American media not caring and hiring Americans or Brits to play all parts ("Just give the role to Ben Kingsley or Jhon Turturro, they have darker skin than most people right?" - every American produces since the 80s).But since this time around it revolves around a black female, suddenly everyone is super woke and caring a lot about "not a realistic representation of the mediterranean races". I wonder how many crying about this show did ever cared about Jhon Wayne playing Genghis Khan, or every Hispanic role being portrait this days by Pedro Pascal, a men with a Hispanic sounding name born on a Hispanic country THAT DOES NOT SPEAK SPANISH AND NEEDS TO BE FEED HIS SPANISH LINES BEFORE FILMING.

America is a country born out of racism and appropiation, can we really expect anything else?

Amusing, imagine being so woke that even critics call you out on blackwashing history.

No.. the funniest thing of all is if it was a success SJWs would be praising it... and now it failed it's still a tool to call everyone "bigots" and pretend t be surprised "and people seem to care" about trying to subvert history with fantasy for political / social propaganda...

Text walls and name calling won't change the fact it was a deliberate SJW stunt just to stir up trouble, the only thing they know how to do.. not actually help anyone any, or actually help things change... but just out of hate and spite.
