It feels as real as it is now. And if you were dreaming, you could do anything you wanted.
I made a thread which others might find helpful if they want to learn.

*And I don't believe it's highly likely at all to get sleep paralysis from unsuccessful attempts. Not in my experience at least.
It just takes practise. Really trying to remember in the morning will get you there over time. And using an affirmation of..
" I WILL know when I'm dreaming tonight and WILL remember my dreams"
Think that as you're falling asleep.
And if you use something like a reality testing card(keeping it on you always), it will help by constantly reminding you.
Note your dreams everyday
Requires time v:
I find DILD is easier to both get into, and also to keep the dream going.. but it is also more rare / by chance.
WILD can be a bit tricky to start off but you can try it every day when you wake up, so you have more chance to practice and get better at it - but this method can cause sleep paralysis.
DILD - be in a dream, and realise you are dreaming then slowly take over influence of the dream. Usually when you notice that a light switch has no effect on a dark room, when using a door handle, looking at your hands, looking at a light switch, looking in a mirror - or just by chance. You can increase the chance by being alert while awake - every time you look at a light switch / your hands / doors / etc. ask yourself "am I dreaming ?", the habit will follow to your dream, and when you think "am I dreaming?" in the dream, you will become aware of it.
WILD - be awake (easiest is after waking up in the morning, while still sleepy) and just lay still, keeping your mind active but not moving at all - ignore all urges to move or scratch. After a while your body will fall asleep while your mind is awake - you can't move even if you try (but don't try to move, and don't panic or you can trigger sleep paralysis).
You might realise at this point that your body is asleep, and you will be in a kind of "blank" waiting state - waiting for a dream to start. Just relax and let yourself fall back into the dream - don't get too excited or worried - just go with it whatever happens.
I heard taking things like Melatonin etc can aid in how strong a dream can be aswell as frequency but it decreases with further usage. Dont use Alcohol or other drugs since they ♥♥♥♥ with your REM phases too much.
Here's what I'm doing but you can choose different techniques.

Its not an easy praxis and can take years to master.
