There are some vaccines for it, though it has limited effectiveness.
Cat wounds may not be noticeable, and by the time symptoms actually show up - if it does, it is not always the case - the disease may be already in the advanced stages, and keeping it indoors may already be too late.
Best to keep the cat indoors to prevent this from occurring in the first place.
