I only take issue with the elderly when they use their age as a way of justifying a lack of human decency or common respect. Otherwise I think elderly people are great. Some of them are very wise and a lot of young people would do well to listen more to them, rather than blame them for our collective shortcomings.

When and IF you get old the young 40 years from now won't want to hear about YOUR good old days either.

Depends on who you are talking too. A 20 year old is going to think a 40 year old and "old." A 40 year old might think a 60 year old as "old." etc.

I can't really see myself wanting to talk about them. I was never into history. I guess it's one thing to reminisce with friends who were there, but the kids of the day? Why would I care to tell them? Better, worse, irrelevant--it's gone.

I do see myself in 50 years or so being approached by my grandchildren for research on a COVID-19 history project. But I'm kind of not the guy to ask, since on that particular topic, I would be the grumpy old man.

Only those without any perspective. Some people kick ass well into their 60's. My grandfather kicked ass until his early 80's.

To say a fool thing like 40 is old, you're not just 20 and speaking relatively, you're an actual goober.

1. As of 2020: GenZ+Millenials outnumber GenX+Boomers.
2. Anti-Mask movements didn't help.
