So as long as the joints don't wear out and the paint doesn't chip off then its worth it.
Also you said "It also prevents me from filling up my room quickly with unneeded things." but obviously price isn't going to stop you from buying these things. It sounds like you need them, every one of them. Get a head start on it and buy a display case/shelf, you'll need that soon I bet.
In fact they are always been actually made in some other Country, usually it is China or Vietnam. Which is great (Vietnam I mean) because I can buy toys without giving money to China.
I have found some toys made in other Countries too but I don't think I have ever found action figures from other Countries.
Anyway of course in most cases the cheaper ones are less polished and the most expensive ones have better quality.
If you like a lot anime art style of course you will probably prefer japanese ones.
I still buy them but just not as much as I would if they were cheaper.
otherwise we can't be friends.
First of all, Japanese Action Figures are not just toys, they are works of art. They are meticulously sculpted, painted and detailed to capture the essence and likeness of the characters they represent. They are made of durable and premium materials that can withstand wear and tear and preserve their colors and textures. They also come with various accessories, poses and bases that allow you to customize and display them in different ways.
Second of all, Japanese Action Figures are not just products, they are collectibles. They are limited edition items that are highly sought after by fans and collectors around the world. They have a high resale value and can appreciate over time as they become more rare and desirable. They also represent a passion and a hobby that brings joy and satisfaction to many people who love anime, manga, video games and other forms of Japanese pop culture.
Third of all, Japanese Action Figures are not just expensive, they are worth it. They offer a unique and immersive experience that you cannot get from cheap and mass-produced alternatives. They allow you to connect with your favorite characters and stories on a deeper level and express your personality and taste. They also enhance the aesthetics and atmosphere of your room or office and make you proud to own them. So no, it's not ridiculous to spend $100 on a Japanese Action Figure, it's actually a smart and rewarding investment that you will never regret.
That's the market value and there are a lot of buyers. If you pick up skills on PVC modeling and figure coloring, you might just make it rich by selling them online.
Models can be highly detailed works of arts but it can get addictive as a collector.
If you go to Japan, be sure to check out Akihabara (Elecrtic City). It's hard not to loot figurines!
Me personally? I don't see the appeal of it. I also don't dust my knick-knacks as often as I should too.
