I do have enough street smarts to know common sense when dealing with other people in my travels. Likewise, I wouldn't call street smarts at the same category as book smarts are as a form of intelligence in the strict sense, but rather as a necessary life skill, tailored to whatever environment someone would find themselves in.

Street smart more than book smart, but still not smart enough for streets, too much to learn.

at age of 10 i learned i have to keep my eyes on any possible thing on ground incase something happened and i needed to defend my self using it.
also from early age i learned how i need to wear sport clothes incase i need to run.

people think i am kidding when i say you need someone older than you to teach you about life. this is the best way. because the other way is very dangerous

Introspection is a helpful method in understanding one's self and their place in the world, now that I think about it. Not helpful to everyone, but certainly helpful to you.
