gg though it was a good attempt
lol
good stuff
uhhh for steam, actually the interactions have been pretty tame overall. maybe 2 or 3 ppl on the friends list over years have had weird meltdowns but nothing funny like yours.
one guy got into drugs and was just so bonkers over text i had to get rid of that. not my scene, kinda sad.
one woman had this strange kind of meltdown and was spitting out some wierd 'i hate men' rant and i was like 'ok so i guess we're not playing left 4 dead then' *friendn't* lol
and then there's the random adds that hold off for like 3 months then drop you a phishing link.
my worst interactions ever have been from FFXIV community. bar none.
I don't add people enough to have any weird experiences whenever I'm sending the friend request though.
Once I joined they surrounded me, had some obstacle setup for me so while knowing not what to do I ran around and they kicked me and the guy removed me without telling me what I was suppose to do so apparently they were a very serious clan and didn't want anyone ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around.
i tried to add him back and asked him what I did wrong, couldnt add him because it said he blocked me.
It was a cool experience though.
That's the long and short of it.
People adding me because I did some stuff on the Workshop, or adding me because I know people who did some stuff on the Workshop.
They weren't asking anything or such, litteraly just to have us as some kind of trophy.
Your case seems oddly familiar, because I remember an instance, where some parents got freaked out over their kid interacting with strangers online and forced him to remove everyone, but not before throwing that kind of shade at some of them.
Ig the few that add as friends but we never speak again? Which is fine cause just having them on the list is nice enough.
Let's say on a more general level (something more appropriate), two extreme sides never fail to confuse (and amuse) me. Those who think that you should write a two-page essay explanation to add someone + you have to tick 10 different criteria boxes, or, those who think that everyone's automatically everyone's friend, and friend lists are only meant to be increased in size, no matter what.
Once that's clear, I do expect the person to spill some beans about themself, and vice-versa.. That is, if we're going to become friends. If that's unacceptable, I'm removing the user from my friend list.
I do prefer knowing a thing or two about my Steam friends.. And the same goes for them about me, so we can talk to each other about other stuff in case we feel like it or it becomes necessary, especially for extroverted people with poor social skills like me.
Talking to them once in a week or so can really lift my spirits, and I do believe, the same goes for them.. Otherwise they wouldn't have really engaged within the conversations, right?
I can't say I do have a weirdest experience.. Besides going through the formalitties, until the person felt like blowing off some steam.
Still, I'm not turning a blind eye to some truly vulgar words without an apology. If there's no apology, we don't see eye to eye, and so we are no longer friends.
That has happened to me a few times.. But not more than four times, as far as I do remember.. Regardless, it wasn't pleasant to experience.
I just got myself some beer afterwards, and called it a day. There's no point in losing some sleep over a person who's not even worth my time.
If someone adds me however, I do literally nothing, its the best test to see if someone actually wants to engage in conversation. The weirder they are, the better.
Next thing you know, he's telling me and asking me about pretty personal things you'd only tell to someone you're close with. He went on to say some really bizarre things after that.
Had to give him the axe.
