Edit: (for the naysayers) Prenuptial agreements, if drawn up and executed correctly, are legally binding and are usually upheld in court. Don't skimp on lawyers if you think giving away half your wealth is an issue. The times where it's not upheld are when there are ridiculous provisions like no child support. Don't be an idiot about it and your prenup will be upheld.

80% of prenups are also written by people who aren't lawyers trying to save a buck and cheaping out..

Yeah, utilise a mediator. It all still has to be filed with the courts, but that's just for the paperwork.

I decide on that, not the government. ♥♥♥♥ them. I'll never sign any papers and my partner is well informed of that. You guys can do whatever you want, but in my book, it's a massive blunder to unnecessarily put yourself on a contract like that.

The way that would work out for you is that they will give a default judgement. Usually in the person that will sign the paper's favor.
