There is no PvP multiplayer games to play
The most popular PvP games are either (old) battle royale games, or very old games coasting as "live service" . the most played (pvp) games on steam and xbox/ps are old games

sounds like your tastes have changed, but somehow that’s everyone else’s problem to fix?
In before someone tells you to go play EVE online. Its mainly populated by RMTraders and their means of driving the few people in that game into their stores both in game and out.

don’t laugh but i can only play games with a controller .

(don’t ask why i have a PC, because console sucks)
If you want to hunt, you have to go where the prey is.
Maybe multiplayer is finally starting to die down and they can start making decent games again.

oooh one and done single player experiences huh? spending 70 dollars for 40hour experiences vs years of value from MP.

Who TF pays launch price?

I guess you have to when the devs can pull the plug on it any minute.

Which is regardless preferable to playing one game ad nauseum for years.

but you get to play with and against other people which makes it fun. single player you play against scripted bots for a pre-determined outcome, and then never play it again . might as well just rent the game instead, and then spend money on a multiplayer youll actually play for more than 40 hours lol.

Hard disagree. Other people are the last thing I want in video games. They cheat, they rage, they troll, and I'd just rather not have them.

Also hard disagree that it's the same every time. It's the case for your generic open world stuff, but it's not at all true in general.

Yeah, A well crafted singleplayer is better than a mindless multiplayer 100% of the time. Give me a story, give me an experience to enjoy as opposed to some 12 year old kid screaming about having relations with my mother. You've put multiplayer games on a pedestal, they're just the simplest option.

multiplayer games are anything but brainless, you’re literally competing with other players, and it isn’t easy to win unlike single player games that give you the win and holds your hand at your own pace . seriously calling multiplayers brainless when you have AAA garbage like interactive movies and characters telling you how to solve rudimentary puzzles is a joke.

“well crafted” lmao , cyberpunk took years after release to play

There are some quite nice multiplayer games, I have no problem with them but they are not the pinnacle of games. And if you want to pick a single example of a single player game? Well that's great. Should I pick an example of a multiplayer game to criticise? And yes, I count multiplayer action FPS games as brainless. You'll note I didn't say they didn't require skill. I prefer singleplayer games most of the time. When I'm playing Elden Ring I don't avoid invasions because I'm bad at them. I win some, I lose some. I avoid them because no matter whether I win or lose my reaction is "Finally that's over, I can get back to the game now"

I will take a nice beefy 80 hour RPG over Call of Duty any day. A game set in a abandoned house and I have to piece together what happened? That's awesome. A grand strategy game where I'm guiding generations of a family dynasty in an attempt to better our situation. Perfect. And some of these can be multiplayer, that's not the point. I'm not AGAINST multiplayer but multiplayer pvp is not the pinnacle of gaming. It's not what all should aspire too. It's an option, and a simple one at that. No character motivation, no story, no... nothing. Just "Here's a gun, shoot the other guys"
