What was the longest time you've been awake and what made you realize "Okay it's time to sleep"
I remember once I was doing challenges to get XP in a game and I wanted to complete every challenge in one sitting so I pulled an all nighter and the moment I realized it's time to sleep was when I was seeing things in the corner of my eyes

i just sat down and passed out at a friends house for about 12 hrs

things were getting weird by then

holy crap

i was seeing things after the third day

how'd you do it:riddle:
I did two weeks with only 4 hours sleep in total when I was building an apartment model for an architecture client during university.

Although I completed the project, I never did an all-nighter since.
Approx. 60 hours.

It was work-related. Got up as usual in the morning, but worked the night shift. Then stayed on due to issues, so ended up working 30 hours, hadn't managed to get things done that I needed to between work, so focused on that and then worked another shift afterwards.

There were quite a few parts where I nearly fell asleep. I drifted off while holding a door for someone and nearly fell over, I drifted off while dicing vegetables and almost dropped the knife on my foot.

I think some people say "I stayed awake for X days" when really they just didn't go to bed for X days, and probably had some 1-3+ hour 'forced' naps in and around where they've passed out. I've done that a lot.

Truly staying awake for that long is practically impossible unless something is really forcing it to happen. The only reason I didn't sleep during those 60 hours was because for the last 52 of them (or so) I was actively engaged in doing things the entire time. Also, at a certain point the tiredness just disappears and you only crash when your body gives you a melatonin dump. If you're in the middle of something when that happens (like cooking), yes you feel the crash, but it's quite difficult to actually fall asleep when standing, especially when you start to fall.

If you're sat down in a non-stressful environment (such as at home), it's almost impossible to not fall asleep.
longest I have been awake is like some 20hours, and I feel like I am sleep walking, and I tell myself I need to find a shelter where I can sleep.

I have insomnia sometimes, I just cant sleep, I woke up, and I cant go back into sleep, maybe I hypnotized me into believing everyone hates me, or I hypnotized me into believing everyone dont care about me.

either way, excessive words to get me all worked up, but no gain. only insomnia.
Like around three days. I was on a festival and partied three days straight. It was ROUGH but also totally worth it lol
I can stay awake for around 5 days without stimulants, or about a week with stimulants. By the end of it I'm too messed up to get much done so I sleep.
3 days giver or take a hour, friend was on leave and it was nonstop video games for hours.
Like 4 or 5 days.

It's from insomnia. I have no control over it.

I think I fell asleep because my body literally wasn't able to function anymore. I don't know though, I don't really remember anything after day 3 usually.
does it count if i had sleep for only 2 hours a day but was doing that for over 3 weeks?
it was a summer vacation anyway

I’m joking. I don’t think anyone can stay up for that long. Haha.

IIRC 11 days is the WR.

There's a guy from the 60's who claimed 16 days, but that claim is in doubt.

After ~11 days, your organs literally start to shut down.
Not very long. Maybe 2 days. I never liked staying awake.

you are kind of right

there are micro naps

those moments where you head starts to bob and you jerk awake

problem is you cannot control them

you can be doing anything when they hit

mine was chemically induced

at the end there, no amount could keep me up and i just passed out
Only really about 40 hours, I've not done the full 48 before

Now longest I've slept is about 21 hours, I spent a week on a field trip, working in the field, hard physical work, 7 - 5, lab and paper work 5 - 8, then partying till 4am, getting up at 6am to get ready to get out

After a week I got home late....about 11pm due to traffic, woke up, asked someone what time it was, got told just after 7....so I was like, perfect time for breakfast, no 7pm I was told

That I find more impressive
