Dealing with the public on a daily basis in any meaningful way will always be stressful. As a new employee, you start off with the best intentions full of smiles and happiness but overtime after constant abuse and belittling by members of the public and your own managment, your enthusiasm soon diminishes. No different with Gamestop employee's.

That is the miserable worldview of a miserable individual.

But, it is the truth.

You're living in the matrix. Gamestop employees are agent Smith abusing you so that you feel trapped and alone, or angry, and therefore make the loosh.

Because, for years, customers didn't appreciate selling them a game for $5 only to have them turn around and resell it for $45.

If the store literally turned (right) around and sold a game for $45, do you know what that means? It means that the game in question was worth$45 at that point in time.

If it wasn't worth at least $45 at that time, no one would have walked right in and forked out $45 for it.

I don't like hearing about people making poor decisions, and then blaming those poor decisions on made-up Boogeymen like Freedom (AKA capitalism). (Oh! Woe is me! I can't believe that other people that I've never met before are allowing me to buy certain things! These strangers should be telling me exactly what I'm allowed to buy and what I'm not allowed to buy! Oh, woe is me!!!"

"Oh! Woe is me! My freedom to buy and sell as I see fit is harming me! I demand that some all-powerful agency --- perhaps the Napoleon Empire, or the U.S.S.R., or American Democrats step in and say "YOU CAN NOT BUY THIS! YOU CAN NOT SELL THIS!

It's true, I work with the public and I have seen so many good lads and girls start with the attitude and enthusiasm of wanting to help and change the world for the better but as the months and years pass by, this enthusiasm is slowly eaten away by the public and management alike.

You can start you day and one customer could say something rude to you and it will screw you over the rest of the day. Management won't support you but the customer is always right.

Been working in retail for 3 years now and I really feel this sometimes. After a while you can just tell who's also worked in retail at some point during their life based off how they react if anything happens to their product. Bonus ducks if it's a problem due to the customer's own decision.

How did gamestop manage to stay relevant?

People poured money into that GME stock a couple years back and it became a thing.

lol that was cool, stock traders were trying to short sell so people just screwed them and carried on buying stock, it soared for awhile.
when the used ps3 and 360 games go on sale for $3 each is when you go to gamestop
maybe 25% of my games are that way
