Why do people say ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards)?
If being a cop is inherently a corrupt position, what alternative solution is there to do? Not have cops and let the streets turn to unnecessary chaos? There are indeed corrupt cops out there but to say that ALL of them are corrupt?

All cops means all cops because even if they aren't personally corrupt, they take part in and perpetuate a system of oppression against minorities and the poor, operated by fascists, that started as, and continue to be, slave catchers through the prison industrial complex. All cops are bastards.
Ah, good ol' black and white thinking.

There is no grey area about the blue. They are a state funded gang used to protect the interests of the wealthy class.
Thank you for posting what the acronym stood for after stating the acronym itself.

I would have mistaken that for a person trying to shorten Abracadabra right before performing a magic trick.

Well, if they're not a criminal, then they say that because they are dumb. Truly. They shouldn't be allowed around open flames, to handle sharp instruments, allowed to dispose of plastic bags, or to be near deep water.

You can't generalise like this.
Some people might have made very bad experiences with cops.

its poorly worded
Why do people say slogans? Either to shorten what they want to say down to a general sentiment, or because they're stupid and genuinely think the slogan IS the sentiment.

I've seen people do a complete personality 180 as soon as they put the badge on.

I've also seen them stay exactly the same, then start shooting people at random. As if they were always like that, badge or not.

In my opinion, many individuals become police officers primarily seeking power rather than financial incentives, given that police salaries are often modest compared to the risks and challenges involved (Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2023). When discussing policing in the U.S., there are notable differences in practices compared to other countries, particularly regarding the use of force and its consequences (Source: Mapping Police Violence, 2023).

Furthermore, a significant number of fatalities in the U.S. involve encounters with police officers, raising questions about the methods and accountability of law enforcement (Source: Washington Post, 2023). This pattern suggests issues beyond effective policing and underscores concerns about excessive use of force and accountability.

Additionally, a notable portion of today's police force comprises younger individuals seeking societal acceptance or influence rather than primarily aiming to enact positive societal change (Source: Police Executive Research Forum, 2023).

well, it's a job that needs to be done. and there's a financial incentive that varies from modest to conspiuously high.

if I had to guess, there aren't enough megalomaniacs with low IQ who want to do the job, and that social fact is why they expanded the job to allow other people to participate.

Yes, but how the job is done and how it is a breeding ground for power hungry ...whatevers..is what the real issue is. At least in the U.S. In Switzerland for example this is very differently.
Not all cops are corrupt, but all the big shots are. America is filled with drugs, so they're either highly incompetent or conniving. Mind you: cocaine and some other drugs cannot be produced in America, this stuff must cross the border.

I live in Europe. I watch " Police Activity " on YouTube and other similar channels. More I don't need to know about the incompetent work of the Police in the U.S.

no, it isn't any different in switzerland in my experiences. the swiss are just more image-conscious about it.

police exist to exert state authority. shooting citizens is what they're supposed to do; they're just doing it when they aren't supposed to.

it's a much smaller issue than you think it is, proceedurally. your belief in their priorities is simply misaligned.

What exactly are your experiences with the Swiss Police?

I lived in the U.S and live partially in Switzerland now, I can tell you that the difference is massive.

And no, Police does not exist to exert state authority but to defend the constitution and execute the law in order to protect society and the people. They are also not supposed to shoot citizens.

Your mentality explains why so much goes wrong in the U.S.
