Why do people say ACAB (All Cops Are Bastards)?

If being a cop is inherently a corrupt position, what alternative solution is there to do? Not have cops and let the streets turn to unnecessary chaos? There are indeed corrupt cops out there but to say that ALL of them are corrupt?

In many countries, the hierarchy and culture of police, ensures that the "good" police are pushed out of the force, because the "bad" ones can enforce more tickets/laws (even create a crime and stick it to a civilian), and that can generate more revenue

Police need to make money....they'll find a way.

The modern institution of the police as dictated by the dominant culture of the USA derives from slave hunter squads and before that, tax collectors in English feudarchy.

It was never about "public order"...but it's a great excuse.

It’s easy to be pro police till you get pulled over for a mild traffic violation and get treated like you are a murderer.

I’m sorry I was going 80km in a 60km zone but to tell me to stay the f out of my town or I’ll regret it makes me hate them. A life of respect for the pigs, and one mistep and they can’t wait to power trip on you.

I challenged the ticket reducing it from 230$ to 55 and no demerit points and complained severely about that pos pig

Most cops are good, but it does attract sociopaths who abuse the power now and then. So always protect your rights just incase you get a bad one

That is a 33% faster than is allowed !!! holy... that would mean removal of drivers licence where I am from and you having to retake it.

Cops in my town are chill. Matter of fact the news is pretty boring. The only news that’s on the newspaper is a pumpkin patch event.
