Yes, but slowly.
Japan has very strict gun laws and very low crime rate. It’s not the guns; it’s society and culture. Even if you do make guns legal I believe the crime rate would still remain low because of Japanese Culture. (Edit: Fun fact but even the Yakuza don’t carry guns. Even if they do they rarely use it)
Same goes with America. For argument sake let’s say we get rid of guns and make it illegal. Crime will still happen anyways and you’ll just handicap the population from protecting themselves.
Wal-mart tried to open stores in Japan, but they failed. One of the contributing factors was their "Employee of the Month" program. In Japan, teamwork is paramount. Singling someone out for accolades is actually embarrassing. But Wal-mart refused to change their policies.
They were also kicked out of Germany for privacy violations caused by cameras over the cashiers and they failed in Mexico because they built huge, empty parking lots that shoppers had to hike across from the bus stop on the road.
Wal-mart is the epitome of a globalist company.
Distribution of Steam users in the United States as of March 2024, by age
One might venture to posit that the age of the average Steam user could have a substantial bearing on the political proclivities that manifest here.
Moreover, the cultural mores and etiquette observed by individuals residing beyond the confines of the United States (myself included) would customarily preclude them from engaging in political discourse on a multinational GAMING platform, out of a sense of decorum and propriety befitting such a GLOBAL gathering of enthusiasts.
Liberals tend to be outnumbered on these forums. They're attacked more for their views than those who spread conspiracy theories without any evidence. It's not unusual to see 10+ people in a thread defending convicted criminal Donald Trump, engaging in climate change denialism or thinking that vaccines are dangerous. Whereas usually there are one or max few liberals.
Far-right has a habit of supporting crimes and criminals if it supports their objectives, whether it's in Europe or North America.
How about you?
