Do you spell things the British way or the American way?
I got a little curious. What I mean by the title is, do you spell words like this: apologise, centre, defence (British) or like this: apologize, center, defense (American) I'm not British, but I think the way they spell words is better in my opinion. So, how do you spell words?

England: what are you doing?
America: Getting rid of u.

1776.
Legend says that it´s the other way around. Like usually immigrants are more traditional than the people in their home countries, as they´re not so aware of the changes there.

So it´s most likely that American English is more in line with some older English.

That´s what i heard, even if the joke is neat of course.

There is some truth to that. Even in the UK, some commentators praised Daniel Noah Webster and other New Englanders for preserving the proper Queen's English and bemoaned the motherland drifting away from it.

Wrong guy. My bad.

The British invented language, the Americans invented spork. I spell the British way out of respect for the greatest empire in all of creation.
