How Do You Feel About Men Crying?
Just in general, what are your thoughts?

I'm a person who appreciates emotional openness, I'm all for it.

But seriously, how much mindshare should we give negative thoughts?
Minimum. We should focus on the positives in life. Life is a mixed bag of good and bad.

Amen.

Doing so due to SERIOUS life events in the privacy of your home with family and/or loved ones is healthy. Otherwise, suck it up buttercup. You shouldn't be crying in public.

Well said. Suck it up buttercup. Cry in private. No wants to watch a man blubber in public.

Who mentioned 'public' anyway?

Too much crap for me tonight - I'm off ;-)

This one could go either way.

There are the weak men who are the biggest crybabies in the world.

There also are the strongest men who sometimes have to pour it out!

It could mean anything.

as a man ive not cried in over 20 years. Losing wives, children and more and nothing. Men do not cry real men anyway. Men are not emotional being like women, when men want to relieve stress we play with toys, get adult things, fall back to our nature.

Ho ho ho - you again? What a hero. So men who do cry are not real because you don't?

Even your reasoning is that of a child...
yes me again, im everywhere

Only soy boys, femboys, mentally weak men cry. I take it you cry lol here is a tissue

The only reason why I keep it inside of me until at the comfort of home is to prevent the downfall of my own pride.
It feels weird to cry in public..
I'm not exactly sure of what is it, but I think it's got to do with my own ego and pride, with my public image that I have built through my life by being myself.
The pessimistic side of me also believes that there're always some people who'd use it for their own benefit, completely ignoring the obvious that if I ever decide to reveal such precious emotions to a person, then they're important to me and have this special privilege that only a few people ever get to receive.

Everybody's got a story to tell.. Even those who believe they don't have any.

If you've meant to ask about my story - I'll have to think about which one to pick, as I tend to cry a lot.
True, we all do. I have some stories I have never told any human being before, not even while drunk. Some stuff just must remain buried deep within and never let out. :steamhappy:

But, it doesn't emotionally affect me thankfully, because I simply don't think about it. :steamhappy:
Indeed, it's in one's best interest to keep some stuff for themself.

If that's how you feel about it, then that's good!
I do prefer sharing some of my worries whenever I feel isn't the inappropriate atmosphere and place, as it somehow feels as if I'm getting closer to the person I'm sharing it with.. Which benefits me in the future and I get to receive some extra attention without even having to put in mucha effort. :lbcat:

General Norman Schwarzkopf eyes welled up when responding to a reporter during his famous press brief. Warrior artists are often sensitive men, but also tough as nails.

Thanks, Shiro. I enjoy your perspective.

To be clear. I have cried before and I will cry in the future. There is nothing wrong with crying in my opinion. Let it out. Heh.

However, we should respect society - our public space. Everyone is dealing with their sh!t. As a man, why burden unknown men with another sad story. Suck it up Buttercup. Do it in private. And join us again when ready.

I like to nurture, not coddle.

Why cry about a problem when I can spend the time not crying and work out a solution?

Men 4x as likely to commit suicide than women. These posts hint at why.
Nope. It's because ultimately 100% of the financial burden of the household AND major responsibilities fall on the man. The woman CAN do these things, but society has decided that they don't NEED to, so if everything goes wrong, it all falls on the man. THAT is why. It has nothing to do with crying.

That isn't true anymore. While women aren't making 1:1 the same amount as men, it's more normal now than it was for women to share the financial burdens of the house and major responsibilities. What you're describing is the ideal conservative society, which thankfully, the west is moving away from.

What is still normal but also less so, is your idea that men must only cry in private or in arbitrary niche situations. Whatever you deem to be a "stupid" reason. Telling men they aren't allowed to express their emotions is terrible for their mental health and is one of the reasons why men's suicides is 4x higher than women's.

♥♥♥♥ Vermeil was a famous cryer.

He was one of those famously spastic emotional coaches who would practice his players HARD! They modern rules wouldn't allow such things. He would yell, scream and curse at the slightest details!

And then at the end break down and cry and tell them how much he loved them!

His teams would walk through walls for him and they got on the field and performed!

A Football Life ♥♥♥♥ Vermeil.

EDIT:
For crying out loud. It censored his first name.

Rolls eyes.

Its very bad.

The roots of the push for male emotional incontinence comes from a very dark place.

This video looks at the history of those psychological theories based on a documentary which should have made it clear it was bad 20 years ago, but people of course ignored it as the cultural subversion was complete.
