It's apparently open source. So any malicious code would be discovered. Open source means that people can look into it, and see what it does.
But you're supposed to look at the advertisements, even if you do not like them.

anything has hacks of sorts its just for pretty eye and you get lass ads and less lag sometimes, but as far safety all programs got spyware so if you fart the wrong way its gets screwed.

Yes Ublock Origin is safe, and imo is an essential tool due the absurd amount of ads & adware everywhere in the internet.

Agreed I mean I can't watch a single youtube video without having ads pop up almost every 3-4 min on a 20 min vid and most of it is alcohol related even though I don't drink nor have looked up any vids on alcohol

I don't use it anymore. It caused problems when I had it on. Luckily I have a little toaster browser that already blocks the ads .

Also I am finding making videos to be rewarding (but also annoying editing wise.) I am never putting ads on any of them
