Was 32 bit Vista less messy then the 64 bit cluster crap?
Vista 64 bit was a hot royal mess for those in at the time and made that generation learn how to hate computers and almost anything associated with them which I can see why. However I don't know if Vista 32 bit was any better since it had NTVM for legacy stuff (or was that a Win 7 32 bit thing?)

Any users that had 32 bit/64 bit or both for running older 32/16 bit software including drivers for your important devices? I only ever had 64 bit and didn't even knew there was a 32 bit Vista till more recently and it really was a broken mess for a lot of my stuff. I wish I had downgraded to 32 bit.

its not much different both got spyware that hides in the closed sources, it seems be only benefit of the system is so that its owners can pester you allday by hacking usb drivers.

Vista was resource heavy at launch, although this was fixed via the service packs. I'm pretty sure both the 32 bit and 64 bit had this issue

my Acer Aspire with 'Windows Vista' only just died this summer... while I complained about Vista initially, I grew to appreciate it... especially when put into juxtaposition with 'Windows 8' and beyond... I was a Huge 'Windows 98SE' fan (still am) and was able to strip Vista down to a point where it was hard to tell the difference... back in the days where the 'P' in PC actually meant something...:-)

Windows is crap.

Move on to a decent operating system.

32 bit was "less messy" yes but it's like comparing 32 ounces of diarrhea to 64 ounces of diarrhea 💩

Vista in general was a liquid smelly mess that needed flushing away. it was flushed away quickly before the stench started wafting around as no one wanted it. Windows 8 is its successor until 8.1 dropped, but by that point the damage was already done... it too got flushed away.

I'm on Linux these days and i'm glad of it.

I thought other then a lack of working drivers that 32 bit (X86) Vista was pretty much a bloated XP but still XP in the flesh once you learned how to navigate it. Did X86
s Vista's NTVM work like XP on 32 bit? Did Vista even have NTVM I know Windows 7 32 bit does and once you enable it the same things that work on XP work there?

I think because most people had 64 bit which caused a lot of trouble with software/drivers which is the purpose of the thread. For me it was hit and miss (mostly miss). Now it's not so much of an issue software wise with PCEM/86Box if you have a decent enough single threaded CPU.

Is the compatibility of Vista 32 Bit about the same as XP 32 bit minus the extra bloat?
