idk I aint buying it. Proprietary crap, over priced. I'm planning on upgrading to an AMD gpu and switching to Linux.

Consoles are mehh in general, they are good when you just want to play games, and even then some games don't support them.

I don't think anyone who uses the steam forums has any interest in buying consoles outside maybe Nintendo stuff.

Lost interest after PS decided to chance for the privilege of playing online. Heard you had to by the disk drive separately, so that would be enough for me not to get it.

I already have a PS5 and I am not sure I can think of a reason to "upgrade" to the Pro version to right now. Start custom colors or a Dragon Quest model and I will be in though.

There are only three kinds of people that I picture buying the PS5 Pro.
  1. People who are “PlayStation loyalists” that buy anything and everything Sony puts out.
  2. People who are graphics snobs that convince themselves that games having ~10% blurrier visuals is a deal-breaker.
  3. People who have loads of disposable income and frivolously spend money on pointless things, just because they’re able to.
For everyone else, the base PS5 looks like the way to go. You spend $200 less for what amounts to an identical experience as the Pro.

at this price point just build a pc honestly. i wonder if theres enough people like that tho that would be getting it

That’s why I specified it as “only” three kinds of people. Because I think all three of those groups comprise a super small minority of the total PlayStation user base.

Someone mentioned in another thread that 11% of PlayStation 4 sales were the PS4 Pro. If that’s the case, I can’t imagine how small it’ll be for this generation.

I think it will be fun when I bring home my £700 console and I can't play my games because there is no disk drive and it only has 14gb of storage.

It’s okay, because all of the PlayStation 5 exclusives still haven’t released yet.
