Well it's because the "fans" do feel they have a sort of "relantionship" when in reality is a parasocial one, overall it's a bizarre and unhealthy situation.

Edit: Once AI advances more the situation around parasocial relantionship will be even more bizarre and unhealthy

Given in the past there were "spicy" deepfakes of celebrities before all the AI stuff, that sounds predictable as far internet standards goes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
