I just open the news media and read - US shrugs off Putin's nuclear threat

And I realize we are back in the Cold War era when there was threat of nuclear escalation all the time.

I haven't lived during the Cold War era but I can see now what it is and it is bad. Because this is not Kim from Korea threatening nuclear to which we are used to shrug it off with a grin on the face, but this is Russia.

In fact this is worse than the Cold War era because back then there was no hot conflict, but now we have active hot war in Europe. This is insane

The question I am asking to myself is, do our politicians confuse wishful thinking with reality because what I am reading in the news is surrealistic

Just for one term Biden created so massive problems that he threw the world back into the cold war era. He really is unfit to be president

I am not saying in my post that Russia is to blame. By this point it is clear to me that Biden is to blame because as we saw in interview with Tucker, Putin explained that he did not mean to have a full scale war with Ukraine but to convince them to accept neutrality as well as exercise actions against ultra nationalistic movements (called banderas). In fact it is well known also that Ukraine initially accepted the terms in the first few months before yet things got very bloody, but at the last moment England (under rule of Boris Johnson) advised Ukraine to not sign peace treaty but to go to full scale war and the west will be supporting them. Moreover, in Tucker's interview Putin clearly said that he is open to negotiations but the west is unwilling to meet and talk with them even.

consider that the biggest divide between gen x/boomers (who are treated as a unified block specifically to antagonize both of them) and Millennials is having experienced cold war propaganda firsthand.

then gen z was basically not taught cold war propaganda at all.

in this confusing time this is the easiest way to split the political base along age lines, and to appeal to largely retired and inactive voters.

this also leaves a convenient 'politically-savvy backdoor' that knowledgeable and politically active youth can enter into, believing themselves to have the enfranchisement of their ambitions as per usual.
