pi day is
3 januari,
and we get pie that day at.
quarter past 4.
**each year I promise students free pie if they have class at that our.. and every year they forget 3 januari is in a holiday for them.. and what student is coming to school just for a slice of pie..
-few do but those that come I always serve pie most is served in the teachers lounge though;)
3 januari '41 at 5hr
there be 2 slices of pie that year.. only 45 minutes apart.
I agree people make up days for freaking everything...
for me there are only these official days :
*new years day (1 januari)
*Praying day (2d wednessday in march)
*Good friday (last friday before easter)
*1st easter (first sunday after first full moon of spring)
*2d easter (day after 1st easter)
*Hemelvaart (39th day after 1st easter)
*1st Pentacoast (49th day after 1st easter)
*2d Pentacoast (day after 2d easter)
*Kings day (27 april, unless that day is a sunday than 26 april)
*Remembrence day (4 may)
*Liberation day (5 may)
*Harvest Thanking day (1st wedness of november)
*Sinterklaas (5 december)
*1st Christmas (25 december)
*2d Christmas (26 december)
*New years eve (31 december)
so 16 special days a year which is plenty.
the only one I wish to see add :
#Independance Day (26 Juli)
while their is a large part of the country that want it to be a holiday there are others (migrants/leftists) who strongly do not as they hate the values of pre french occupation netherlands.
in the catholic regions of our nation they have more days.
(I aint catholoc or in those regions)
*Three Kings (6 Januari)
*fasting eve (tuesday before easter)
*Ash wednesday (wednesday before easter)
*White Thursday (thursday before easter)
*Silent Saturday (saturday before easter)
*Mayday/Midsummer (1 may)
*Saint Martin (11 November)
(bringing the total for catholics to 23 special days a year)
we luckely never had that communist labour day.
stop adding crap. those 16 or 23 suffice.
thats already 1.33 to almost 2 special days per month.. or 1 special day per 3 or 2 weeks..
which is plenty.
Britain is an exotic and foreign land full of mystery to the Japanese, and Britain has been using stolen aspects of other cultures to market itself as such for hundreds of years.
This is probably the simplest explanation for the popularity of Dark Souls, Wizardry, and other tower/dungeon games such as Baroque or Druaga or Nier.
britain has incredible dense archelogical remains.
from fossils.. to very early stone age to romans to iron age.. to medieval the amount of historical stuff on that small island that sonehow survived is increddible..
in the rest of eurupe most of that all is long since destroyed by plow or new developments or never was there to start with.
it helps being on an island to not have your stuff shot to pieces.. and to have lots of marshes that are not suited to build on so were mostly left alone.. the fossils well thats geografical luck..
there are other regions that had more history.. but as they were continuesly more habitated and conquered much less of it is still to be found..
ofcourse what COULD be found has been taken by brits and put in their museum too;)
you ever hear about english archaeologists going around and destroying any archaeological evidence that countered their narrative about the past? lots of them had crown endorsements.
somehow the ones without such endorsements never engaged in singleminded destruction like this.
they instead preferred 'cultural restoration' or 'accuracy adjustment' or 'restoration' work of historical sites, several of which later turned out to be elaborate hoaxes designed to cover up evidence of their falsefied nature.
all totally innocent and founded on the best scholarship allowed.
nope.. have heared islam doing that.. hence why so little is left in islamic regions despite the vast history in many of those places..
but well even egyptians defaced temples and wiped out the old kingdoms history.. and destruction of what was pagan is no stranger to other religions too..
those mayan bookscrolls to name one..
really? i heard the english originally planted all that falsefied evidence, then later portrayed islam as knowingly involved when they offered favorable trade deals for capitulation. for example to extremist and revisionist groups like the taliban, who have once again been given control following a BP-backed expeditionary trade war using US mercenaries promised the same deals.
britain also manufactured many instances of pyramid desecration; carbon dating later confirmed these desecrations could not have taken place until english tombrobbers had arrived.
yeah, the efforts to transcribe mayan stones into paper form, before english-hired goons could smash the tablets and pretend no such culture ever existed, did necessitate an elaborate campaign of denial and coverup, as well as creating falsefied copies as red herrings.
Kingbot's head was worshipped as an Aztec god you know. There were very explicit carvings.
Also involved in the Caliphate.
Also rather infamously involved in popularizing the pyramid.
All inscription-prone cultures. All required the direct hand of the crown to wipe away evidence of the past.
my point being: either english-backed archaeology has gone to a site and wiped away conflicting evidence, or they've simply dug around and declared it empty. intermediaries in this process are the middlemen between the site and the hand which wipes.
