Because the concept of a profile avatar is something people who ask stupid questions don't get. A Steam profile avatar is not my alter-ego. It merely showcases a game or something else I am presently most interested in.

look im not saying i assume everyone with an anime girl profile picture is a girl okay

im just saying if they were actually anime girls the world would be a better place because thered be anime girls everywhere and not boys with anime girl profile pictures
