ASUS BIOS files download as .CAP files?

My friend is trying to update his ASUS Z87-PLUS motherboard with files from the ASUS website. However, whenever he downloads the files and opens the .zip, the file inside of that comes up as a .CAP with the icon being a little blank piece of paper with the Windows Media Player logo on it. All that happens when he clicks on the file is that it opens Windows Media Player. I'm being offered a free TF2 hat for fixing this for him, so if anybody could post a solution to this that'd be dandy
