Mass Builder proteins helped a lot when bulking because it is very difficult eating a lot food sometimes. You can get a bin for 20-70 dollars depending on the brand. But it will last you more then a month.
I heard that stuff is pretty constipating though.

It can be, but I never had a problem with it when I was lifting.

if you have a Grocery Outlet or similar store, their protein shake mixes are comparably inexpensive...

Psyllium husk powder (or just metamucil)- you'll save on TP, too:thumbspoop:

Get fat then workout again. Then get fat again. Then workout again.

Use the school gym and make your own equipment e.g. Fill shopping bags with bottled water for weights.

Ask your parents if you can gain an income for doing chores over and above your usual chores. Then expand to the local community. I know a teenager (18) who mows lawns and does well along with a young man who spray paints house numbers on curbs and fences/walls for a fee.

you're going to need protein, so it might help if you say,
"hey mom and dad, can we have pinto beans once per week? I heard a good way to make them is with a pressure cooker, and if you add a little salt and warm tortillas on a lightly seasoned pan (which there's Youtube tutorials on how to do) they can be pretty good - I want to have a regular source of protein so I can work out and get stronger".
That's a pretty very affordable way to get protein.

You can mash them with a fork, which is usually preferable to whole beans, and maybe go the additional step of learning how to make crisp bean burritos - it's pretty simple, you just to put soft burritos into a pan that has oil or butter in it.

...and if your parents are like mine, they'll not only reject your suggestion but they'll also yell at you so harshly that you'll regret not only asking but also ever being born.
Good luck.
Pinto beans? Maybe if he's having trouble pooping. But like I said, the Standard American Diet (SAD) has plenty of meats and protein that you don't have to worry about getting it from beans. If he's still eating at home, it's unlikely it'll be an issue. Yes, maybe if he was a vegan, he'd try for protein from beans. It is good to get enough fiber though, so you can have that glorious poop. :steamhappy:

And if all else fails, just invest in a protein powder. Per serving, it's the cheapest way to get protein. But again, I doubt it'll be an issue, at least at first.

I'm not even a vegan and I do that.

I know pinto beans are affordable because I've done-
ah who am I kidding... I'm stilling living off of pinto beans.

90% of the meat I consume is meat that is on the very last day of its expiration date that people were just going to throw out anyways. I don't get meat very often.
Yea they're very affordable, and incredibly healthy too. Each of the "Blue Zones" consumes a good amount of beans. I was just talking about from a protein pov and the fact he's still home.

This post is for entertainment purposes only. It does not contain professional advice or reach professional conclusions. Please consult with relevant licensed professionals and obey the laws in the jurisdiction in which one lives. This post does not glorify drug use or abuse.

The answer is simple:

Unless one was born with unusually high testosterone levels and an ideal mix of supporting hormones bulking naturally is 100% impossible.

You can train till you turn blue.

You can eat till you puke.

And NOPE!

What will happen is there will be initial gains that will fool you. It will appear that indeed it is possible to make natural gains- until the initial shock wears off and the gains stall and/or reverse as the body/mind begins to fight back.

Sorry, but these are the laws of biology.

Now, having spent the vast majority of my life bulked up and turning into a professional trainer, few know these things better.

The best unofficial advice that I can give is to train and diet and learn to do them perfectly. Just know that if you push it too hard, for now, it will do more harm than good.

Then, and only after about college age(this advice is primarily aimed at males), every guy will be different- but one's testosterone begins to level out and begin dropping about 1% a year after that. The change happens like frog soup. It is so slow that men don't recognize it is happening until decades of slowing down.

Then and only then, there will be something very significant required to bulk- and this post won't explicitly say what such requirements may be. It should be obvious- and by then one should not just have the physical- but the mental maturity and life experience to decide if they want to undergo such a voyage.

If one does- be warned. It's brutal. If one wants to achieve maximum results this means that it is going to dominate your life. How you eat, sleep, drink... all will have to planned and executed perfectly. There won't be skipped workouts, there can't be "Just one Happy Meal..."

If it's really what one wants- the rewards are unlike anything- and so will be the sacrifices required to truly pull such things off.

Good luck!

So you're saying, for many people it's 100% impossible. And for those who are lucky enough in the first place, in order to get good muscle gains as you age(because obviously testosterone levels decrease as we age)you need to take anabolic steroids?

Which I guess also means you're saying(not directly but maybe implied)that if you are not lucky enough to be born with "unusually high testosterone levels", then you should just go straight to that end goal anyway?

Is that right?

*I would just advise anyone reading this to be wary of anyone telling you that you're not genetically gifted etc and so should take steroids to gain muscle. Especially if they claim to be a professional trainer, as a professional built on that, is really only a fraud.

Sardines aren't cheap.

You want Protein and Calories while you are Bulking, the cheapest source for both is Peanut Butter.

2 Tbsps of PB is about 150 - 230 calories and 5-10 grams of protein.

Depending on brand and the difference between smooth vs crunchy.
