Whats your opinion on Windows 10 vs. Windows 11?

Support for Windows 10 will end October 14th, 2025. This has caused outrage and concerns. This action is Microsoft mass forcing users to move to Windows 11 by this date.

Many opinions of 11 is that its nearly worse in every imaginable way. Its much more simplistic, and has removed a lot of features. Privacy settings have been reduced further as well.

You don't need a Microsoft account for Windows 11 with a Pro version which has always been the one you should use anyway...

You can just download Windows 11 for free directly from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Then you can simply choose Pro version, skip the part where it asks you for a license or a Microsoft account or whatever and there you go, you won't ever need a license or a Microsoft account. It's perfectly legal and perfectly functional for personal use.

The downsides are an "activate Windows" watermark in the bottom-right corner and customization options like dark mode, accent colors, etc. being locked, but all this stuff can be bypassed in a couple of minutes without any kind of downloads or anything like that. You can't set a desktop background through the nice interface in the Settings app, but you can just right-click an image and do it that way instead... As for dark mode, I just changed a registry value from 0 to 1 if I remember correctly. It's really that simple.

By 2027, i suspect that some Linux versions will be more useful and easier to use than Windows11, for gamers. Even now, easiest Linux based OS have become much more user-friendly compared to 2003 Linux counterparts.

For ALL gamers using Windows 10 out there;

Stick to Windows10. If you want to get rid of it, don't jump to W11.

When support ends, Windows 10 will be over 10 years old. I upgraded for free to Windows 11, and it is fine. I have moved the icons to the left in the task bar, though.

Having sampled 10 and 1/2 I couldn't take it and rolled back.

The funny thing is I always despised stinky 10 and for a long time either ran 7 or a very modified 8(using methods such as Classic Shell) to effectively turn it back into 7 with extra smoothness under the hood.

Eventually, the hardware and other requirements eventually forced the downgrade to stinky 10. I can't run old coal fired rigs forever. Eventually, even a couple of mainstay desktops had to be upgraded and there really wasn't any choice.

So for the future, I am launching both the dot calm and one of the 2 YT channels is tech- so since the vast majority runs Windows, I gotta mainly run it.

For those reasons I can't go Linux full time.

Top of something, after all we are talking about virtual things here so it could be literally anything conversed into for instance physical meaning.

Like: Technology, wealth, usefulness convenience and or any of the other things nearly as much or as many (things) as one could imagine.

Obsession, guidance a base like a framework..... drivers like "the driving force" .... etc.

Exploration, hope a (new) meaning....

Tomorrow, today. Yesterday.

Daily, nightly; on the move, while standing still, sitting, standing.... Lying down.

etc. Etc.


In essence: I like something new, something... Fresh. Fresh yet so familiar.
