Science only explains HOW it reaches bluish purple color, not the REASON.
The sky is blue because of the current atmospheric composition. The atmospheric composition has changed dramatically over time.
Light scatters blue because of the type and quantity of elements in our atmosphere.
We know HOW bluish color accentuates itself more in Earthly Athmosphere. It isn't the answer the REASON why this atmospheric composition doesn't give us Orange more. Same thing goes for the Athmosphere of Titan, the biggest Moon of Saturn. Nitrogen & Methane composition at those temps (-200 °C) gives an orange haze but it could be Red too. However, Orange is chosen for that composition.
I mean, Sun could be seen as Blue despite 5500 °C surface temperature, but it is seen as yellow. It could be seen as purple or cyan. But it is not.
We don't search the answer of HOW, here.
The how and why have been talked about here. I introduced time into the equation.
What is blue? It's just a frequency on the electromagnetic spectrum. Our eyes evolved to see that range in the electromagnetic spectrum cuz it's abundant on Earth. That's our sun, baby! And the surface temperature is a function of mass and composition and age.
The reason it's at the blue frequency is because of physics. Why is blue perceived as blue? Don't know. Don't care.
that's actually the exact quote from God when he was deciding which color to make it
That's right.
Sunlight contains the spectrum of colors and green is actually the least useful to plants. The plants absorb more of the other colors and reflect back the green- which causes their general appearance.
Green dogs are alleged to do the same thing.
