Why Oregon isn't pronounced like organ? Or is it?
Why it isn't or is it? Should it be or shouldn't? Let's discuss.

Probably ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There are organs in Oregon.

Are E Oh? Dammit I have been saying it wrong this entire time :steamdeadpan:
Because it IS pronounced that way. Please tell me people on the east coast don't still think it's pronounced with "gone" at the end, even most foreigners I've heard and people with English as a second language pronounce it normally.
Kinda more like Orgin. Okay, maybe organ.

I think the closest example would be like oregano sauce but without the O. We're tolerant of pretty much any pronunciation as long as it isn't ore-gone.

Closer but still too much emphasis on the o. OreGun is better.

I've lived in Portland, Roseburg, and McMinnville. I agree with oregano, but some people get rid of the extra syllable.
both

or and ore

sound the same

so, or-egon would work
I don't know.
