I have no idea.
Apparently it is an obsolete spelling of neighbor and there is a tin company with the name in China. Plus I think is a last name.
that’s just what we use as a word for completed structures
Color is wrong too, it should be colour. :-)
tho is wrong, it should be "though". :-)
And so on. :-)
As for your spelling, reading your words "Dauter" to me this doesn't sound like "daughter" at all. I mean not even a little, it has a completely different pronunciation.
"Dauter" it sounds more like "Daw-ter". It's just not right. The "gh" makes a significant difference in how it is pronounced.
I know these letters may seem insignificant when it's not your native language, but when it is, it can make a significant difference in how you read and understand the words.
don't let me start with the French language. no french can pronounce the letter R and they still using it in half of their words, even their own country France have the letter R and they cant say it, cant be more disastrous.
Oh, the places you'll go while on OT. I haven't heard that one. Never knew the etymology.
I do not know exactly why all, most or even a significant number of the English words are spelled the way they are, but it is best to just leave well enough alone at this point. The language has been highly resilient to spelling reform ever since Noah Webster's half-successful attempt[www.merriam-webster.com], which kind of broke it more than it helped.
Even the efforts of Theodore Rosevelt and Andrew Carnegie in creating the simplified spelling board were little more than a waste. All we got out of that is that analogue and dialogue are sometimes also spelt as analog and dialog, with the latter being favored in computer settings where people were previously attempting to save every last byte of computer space they could when we only had like, 64kb of total R.A.M. in the first place.
C, Z, and some other letters pronounce Th.
It should be "bill ding". In memorial of Bill and his ding who had an unfortunate accident while erecting his hut.
You're as useful as the "ueue" in queue.
Probably not original to them, or to me. :P

so you don't have southerners saying "DATR!!" and wonder if you're in texas or on the starship enterprise...
also bring back the thorn... it was useful.
"Thaha" for the first word.
