Assassins Creed Shadows, hit or flop?
As per topic, do think it will be a hit or flop? And why?

I personally think it will make money, probably nowhere near as ACV. Only hardcore fans will throw money at it. Casual players I think will avoid this game like a plague. Used to be a big fan of the franchise, heck, got almost all the games in my library...

Not staying true with the protagonist vs the setting and ERA where the games takes place. Ezio was an Italian in the Renaissance. Eivor, Connor, Bayek and Altair, all represented their setting appropriately. Shadows or UBISOFT to be corrected, took a wild turn with this new title. The protagonists in this Japanese era are simply inappropriate and unfitting. It's like wearing a bathing suit to a wedding.

Anyone else?

I'm sure it'll be sold like pancakes in China.

Wait, do they even like pancakes in China? Because that's kinda what I was going for...

Peking duck comes with small pancakes. Delicious :lunar2019smilingpig:

Not that China and Japan (where the game is set) are particularly good friends though, I think.

it will be a hit, because "public internet opinion" means nothing and every time the internet claims some video game will flop it does not.

we dont know

but if it cost more than star war outlaw, i say it going to be the brick that sink ubisoft ship

i say that, because people are busy on monster hunter and assassin creed is not sexy anymore

I don´t think so.
Ubisoft games have 90% of their sales on console.. They never really sell much on PC. That make sense, as they are console centric games.

They almost always generate profit (sure not crazy profits, but profits) so I don´t think Ubisoft is in any danger with this one.
monster hunter also released on console

star war outlaw supposed to bring $$ to ubisoft, instead it sink ubisoft ship

i am not feeling assassin creed is more popular than star war

before 2020 yes assassin creed was popular franchise, but since 2020 assassin creed remind me too much final fantasy, halo dying franchise

i am not so sure, since dustborn or suicide squad when internet become hostile against game, i say 90% of time the game going to flop, i remember with star war, internet said the game was mediocre, but people still defend it, until ubisoft announce they are in bad situation with $$ because star war didnt sell well
Looks like we have another dragon age veilguard in the making.
I actually don't think it will flop. I think it will at the very least be an alright release. It's got enough eyes on it, and a solid history behind it, and Ubisoft has been trying really carefully to make this a good one because they know how much is riding on this title.

Will it save Ubisoft from their predicament though? That I am not sure of!

While both of those are also console centric (most AAA games are) a game such as MH have been somewhat popular on PC and the genre is just very different compared to a regular western action adventure like a Ubisoft game.

Overall these games just need to sell well on console to be profitable and most of them are not really that popular on PC (they don´t need to be)
