Russia has a history of violating cease fire agreements. I wouldn't accept it.

Can you list some examples (modern ones) where Russia have violated ceasefire agreements?

Putin said the same thing in 2014 after conquering Crimea. We know how that ended.

It'll just be the same thing again: a couple of years of "peace" so Russia can re-arm itself and then make up an excuse to invade Ukraine, again, and continue its conquest of Ukraine, again

Maybe at a certain point we should realize that nations like Ukraine just weren't meant for this world, they might as well join with Russia.

Because look if this is there game-plan where they declare peace, re-arm, and then go to war again why hasn't Ukraine got the memo?

Pre-war they weren't allowed to join nato because t hey were lazy and corrupt. The lazy part being that they refused to dump much money into defense and supported anti-gun laws that prevented the population from arming themselves and thus having at least "some" defense.

But nope, they need to rely on foreign countries. And they dont even have real alliances with these foreign countries.

The ceasefire is only a 30 day agreement. Russia will probably re-arm themselves and attack again unless a better deal is made.

Be the change you seek. Giving up lets the bad guys win.

i mean i agree but comments like that are next level sociopathy, just completely heartless. does my head in, after awhile. you can only make so many "have a heart" comments to people like that and be rejected with venom and vitriol before you just want to give up trying to help them see any sort of light.

They're just the loud minority. Eventually they'll become adults and learn how terrible their opinion was, at the time. I used to believe that a guy should have a say with abortions. I no longer have that terrible belief.

That's not what the Ukrainian people want though. They don't want to live under the russian boot again. Which is why they continue fighting for their freedom, independence and liberty.

You know what freedom, independence and liberty means and why that's worth fighting for?

You do know that the only reason you Yankees won your war of independence against the British is because the French helped, yes?

This whole "give me liberty or give me death" thing you americans are always so proud of?

Yeah, you didn't do that alone. You had help.

In this situation its either dealing with a Devil or a Demon. Sometimes its better to deal with both and have them fight an eternal war for balance.
At the moment, the only peace Putin is interested in is a breather to rearm the Russian army and then attack again in a couple of cears. Unless there are plausible security guarantees to protect Ukraine, there can be no peace. And Putin will not agree to such a deal.
