How to make a computer room feel homely or cosy.

There is a desk and some cables and a lamp and some furniture. The room has a wood floor and is approximately 3x4 metres. I want to put a TV in the room and some seating arrangement. I want to keep my computer in this room but the desk is quite oppressive in its height and greedy demands. I could use folding partitions to break the room up, but it isn't a large room. I am also open to possible alternatives to PC gaming without a standard computer desk.

Moving to my new place after my father died and giving the previous one up. It's similar to your arrangement, this room roughly the size of a large bedroom and i've already arranged the most important aspects including the computer. it has a TV but it's missing an armchair and a bookcase so i can unload everything else from the boxes i have stacked to the side. i'm happy with the layout and where everything is placed for now, but there is more i want before i consider it really liveable, for example some pictures on the walls, new curtains, a rug, a few wooden bits need putting up to stand things on and a clip on fan for the summer months, assuming i'm still in this place by that point.

Need some light covers on the wall lights and later some mementos from adventures i'll be taking, some of those can be put around. by the time i'm done it will be a really nice setup room. I might repaint the walls before i consider it all permanent though.

Rugs, don’t ever underestimate the feel of even a single rug. I have but one rug in the computer room and damn does it make a huge difference. You wouldn’t think it make much of a difference but it really does.

I have a couple of rugs but I think I'm gonna go with a whole theme for the other area
