Safety of sending your children to public schools

Do you think it's still safe and healthy to send your children to public schools in the modern age, at least in the Western world? Nowadays schools seem to be more interested in exposing their impressionable students to woke ideology and other similar forms of brainwashing, and expose them to age-inappropriate sexual depravity.

Would you trust sending your children to a public school in a Western country in 2023 or do you think it would be better to homeschool them?

Looks at the state of the country, looks at the state of politics, looks at the culture.

Absolutely not. The job the schools do, shows in how the country is doing.

Agree the boards that control the school system are so entrenched in DEI there is no more room to fit an actual academic education to learn anything outside of the woke mindset, and they also absorb over 90% of the funds to run them.

Until we abolish the NEA and all the related state-level boards homeschool and private are far better options for K-12 for parents who actually care about the future our children will have.

This above, my kids school in the UK doesn't teach 'the woke agenda' just yet but little things are creeping in slowly. In primary school the teacher did once say it's ok to boy if you feel/wish to be, I was not happy with this but my little one understands.

The campus removed tampon machines from the male bathrooms and now the students are protesting against it. Clearly, men don't use or need these products, its a female specific thing and has no place in mens toilets, period (no pun intended).

But im glad there is a backlash to all this woke nonsense in america and I really hope it doesn't take roof in europe (even tho woke is here, people still have common sense).

Do yourself and your family a favor, homeschool. Unless you and enough parents actually do your due diligence to make sure the right people are in control of your local school system, which most parents clearly have not been doing.

No offense to you but the UK is already a nanny state anyway, so fully expect wokeness to fully overrun your schools soon enough.

kids should be educated with software in a pc/phone and have a couple of social hours at a community center instead of going to school, even if a teacher is good there is too many children to give them a proper education get ai tutors for children and let them have practical/socialization hours, the education system needs to evolve

No. I would only homeschool. I think public schools, especially in America, are indoctrination stations, and I wouldn't want any child of mine to be subjected to the stuff they teach nowadays.

In my country, sure... but the last few years, the government has been adament to ruin the school system, so the biggest risk is the risk of a subpar education... which will have serious consequences down the line, but right now its most ends up with kids who knows nothing.

I would honestly rather my kids know nothing...someone without a formal education can still become a skilled laborer or learn a trade. But someone who has been indoctrinated from a young age is very hard to break out of...especially when it's such a dangerous ideology as this one. They will be taught not to work, and that working is bad.

I can only speak for my country, and teaching kids nothing is exactly the issue we have. They barely have any skills in math, they dont even have much skills in our native language. Thats not a good development. We need good schools that teach critical thinking. If we dont, we have a population that will be easy to control, and thats a direct threat to freedom and democracy (in the long term).

in my nation it is not allowed to homeschool.

there are still reformed schoold pushing back to the woke stuff but it remains to be seen how long..

so when I find a wife and we have kids we might have a talk about what nation to raise them in.

nah if I had children I wouldn't send em to a school where the teacher for some reason had their priorities in repeating whatever news they watch says rather than teaching the subject they are suppose to
