Youtube adBlock crackdown
So Google is banning all adblocks from youtube. They will start issuing popup and after 3 videos you will not be able to use adblock. Either pay for premium or watch 3-5 unskippable ads each 15-30 sec.
Maybe in time there will be more ads. Every 10 seconds of video you will get 2 minute ad

Or, Google could do what they said and properly vet the ads.

Malicious ads are not new and have been a thing for years. YouTubers have even gotten videos removed trying to cover them to show YouTube how bad they are.
Yeah have fun sending them that email.

Don't need to. They are already in a huge lawsuit for lying to the people that pay for the ads with how they distribute them.

Just shut up about it until they start to widevine it, I don't wanna hear about your crappy setup.
Librewolf + uBlock = 0 popups so far.

Youtube never gives me 3-5 15-30 sec unskippable ads... It's either one 15sec ad or two ads skippable after 5 seconds.

Youtube is a free platform, and Google had overhead fees to pay.
Watching ads is the least I can do, and it also supports the creators I watch.

What does bother me is Youtube profiting off exploitative content.

If the video gets blocked, I just open it up on a signed-out version of my browser (with adblock still enabled) and it's all business as usual. I forgot youtube ads were a thing until this happened.

Firefox with ublock still seems to work. I imagine if you regularly delete your cookies, and use a VPN, the functionality will be even better. Unless they FULL blown prevent adblock, there's workarounds.

Also, stop giving all of your data to Google capitalize on.

Remove all the Google crap you can from your life.

Uploads should be treated as advertisements as after all it is a product being advertised among other products.
By charging uploaders like we currently do for server space would remove the need for advertisements to have to interrupt uploads and force then to make their own youtube channel..

Other than the Pixel, but buy it used or just don't have a smartphone yes.
I use Chrome and uBlock Origin and don't see ads on youtube. So either youtube is giving up on up on it, or uBlock Origin is really good.
