Some will. Some say they will. If it's their only way to make money from people not paying more of them will have to claim they only sponsor stuff they like just to get by; there is a reason product placement on TV is highly regulated in many countries.

Those aren't related at all.

People trust when characters and/or role models endorse things more then they do the company trying to sell directly to them between segments of what they are watching; wheather it's through a theater, TV, or monitor.

Well, at first, not logging into YouTube and using the Brave browser was working; sadly, now it's starting to give me popup warnings again. I've even cleared my cookies or whatever, and it doesn't matter. So, it's about time that I will have to watch stuff elsewhere; oh well.

Nothing else I could to fix on my own. So I have to wait some other options from reddit. If not, then Firefox.

As long as we're talking about ad-blockers and alternate front-ends, it'd be good to move on from reddit to Lemmy.

They are built around the notion of Libre & open-souce, and therefore third-party clients.

The channels I watch have a huuuge list of Patreons. Even if the subscribers all donate only U$1,00 - U$5,00 per month, they'd still make a few thousands. And the content creators also are sponsored.

The good news is that those channels are also available on other platforms, so I can ban YT from my life for a while.

Well, I no longer have to worry about all of this because I switched to Firefox completely. I also stopped using Gmail, Youtube, and anything else tied to Google. I have been making lots of changes tonight. I made sure to block some websites and reroute them. For instance, I blocked Google and made it reroute to Yandex. I also blocked Youtube and made it reroute to Bitchute.


Not everyone is ready and willing to cut Google off, but I am.

I never understood this. I watch a lot of YouTube and usually just get Ads in the begging and the end (in a video averaging around 10min or less). Some channels have their own sponsorship somewhere in there. Idk, maybe because I grew up when commercials were just part of life when watching TV, but this amount seems perfectly fine to me. Yet others act like they are drowning in Ads, and if you are getting more than just 2-3 ADs, you may want to talk to the channel your watching. Plus, some ADs are absolutely hilarious or really entertaining. Are you telling me, you never seen the sexy skeleton women, from the Bones Coffee commercial? She's super cute. Oh man, Dr Squatch! Have you not seen the Dr Squatch commercials!? I recently got premium and yeah, thats a bit expensive for one account but I got the family for my family so it works out. While i enjoy being able to use YT with the screen off, a little bit of me is missing the commercials. To be clear about 80% were just trash and i tolerated them, but there were some that were just brilliant and funny.
