Water is tasteless and colorless. The only water that has a taste is the brown water that comes out of a tap after working on the water line.

Chlorine in tap water is to kill off all the little germs and bacteria that can kill you.

Bottled spring water will take on the plastic taste. Spring water in glass is better but most of that isn't particularly good or bad.

I can still taste it. Use it for cooking as the chlorine boils off, fluoride won't. Glad the tap water up here is chlorine.

What you mostly taste in water is the metals and mineral compositions in it. That could be a good or bad sign of the quality water.

Water does have taste. You don't normally drink completely distilled water.
