Also, I'd rather fight Freddy, my dreams are already terrifying so I might not even notice him trying to kill me.
Incidentally, one of the people in the original was my next door neighbor in St Louis before she went to LA. So, she was my neighbor and starred in F13 along side Kevin Bacon, which links me to Kevin Bacon in six degrees or less!
Jason as a villain was definitely a product of it's time, lol.
Pretty easy for an unkillable thing to go around merking people when the only phones in sight were bricks attached to wires, no cameras or anything.
In modern setting, Jason would be caught the moment his ass leaves the swamp and forced into slavery by some corporation that makes him twerk on tiktok.
Krueger would definitely be a bigger threat especially in today's society when everybody is on the edge due to the dumbest things possible. Giving them some "good" dreams would push a lot of people over the edge nowadays.
Really...? I think people are unusually primed to mistrust and ignore their dreams, no matter how horrific, in the modern era.
Also I think what makes Jason scary is that he's 'above' (or below) society in a sense. Having a found footage/command console movie just tracking his movements from the mass surveillance system, and portraying that system as totally helpless to actually stop him, would be ripe I think.
Except for Hellraiser 6 where they trapped Pinhead and his crew(and it was in space in the distant future).
Saturday the 14th however has historically been not so good.
But a day is a day and random is weird... not like I would have noticed except for the ... "myth?"
