Just because he was cursed doesn't mean he wasn't bad.

All vampires are kinda suss you know, with the whole age difference and chasing schoolgirl romances thing. Difference between Spike and Angel was that Spike at least looked somewhat close in age to the Scoobies, and was aware it was a bit weird. Angel was unaware and looked like a late 30's loser that hung around with them at school discos because he can't get women his own age. Always hated that character, didn't watch his spin-off either.

He was much more likable in his own show for sure, maybe give it a shot. His supporting cast is excellent.
