If YouTube really wanted people to stop using ad blockers, maybe it would start banning excessively long ads. This is the internet. If your ad can't get its point across in 10-15 seconds, you failed.
A couple of short ads is no big deal, but when you get ads that several times longer than the video you are trying to watch, that's a complete failure. Especially as I'm going to be so annoyed that I don't care what you're trying to sell, I ain't buying it. I want advertisers who respect my time, not waste it.

there is not even the worset ads, some are over 1min but yea they should and i think they should remove all ads but that is never happend

One minute? My current record is a mid-roll add that was over 30 minutes. Mind you it was in the middle of a 4 hour video, but I don't have time to watch an infomercial.
I also had one that was 4+ minutes that I let run for a bit. Two minutes in I still had no idea what they were selling as all they did was talk in circles the whole time.
Most ads should only be 10-15 seconds, I've seen plenty of those and they can be quite effective at grabbing someones attention. At most, an ad shouldn't go over 30 seconds... ever. Nobody on the internet has the time, patience, or attention span for long, drawn out ads.

Like how OP dramatises it just enough for the mind to conjure images of youtube getting personal and tracking us down one by one.

We all know how this cat and mouse game works so its a blip only as long as it is for someone to come up with another work around.

We know consumers provide the advertising revenue so if you think about it, youve already paid for the right not to be subjected to them. Problem is the consumer forgets or isn't aware of the salient fact and so allows the cycle of continual taxation in various guises to continue.
Its also worthy of note that its an unsolicited one at that.

trying to block ad blockers is like trying to battle seeders / torrentors emulators and ROM / hackers and cheaters in games.

it's an ever losing battle. The only winning move is not to play and instead make your platform much better.


OFC most of these start off as independent illegal copyright violating 3rd party sites or apps. So when they want to go clean all the ♥♥♥♥ that made them hugely popular and unique gets removed and like 100 other mediums pop up. Eventually the popularized thing starts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and eventually losses everyone.


The only reason youtube has little to no competition is b/c of the DATA ram and overall server space others would need to have to compete. but there are others like tik tok snap chat vine and yes even the meme porn sites that post content on there.


sadly youtube is more about $$$$$ nowadays that they won't ever make their site better. If anything it's the same layout and every year they just make it worse.

I decided to switch to the Brave browser, and I noticed the popups stopped, but just in case I decided to not log on anymore. I will do whatever it takes to stop their harassment of pop-up blockers.

Imagine having a google account, would make sense they abuse those more that let them, can't blame google at that point, would be really embarrassing honestly if all the popup complainers are signed in. I tried looking up a guide in the Steam Overlay recently, I try to skip around to the part where I'm at, I gave up after getting 3 ads immediately after trying to do that.
The modern internet is unusable without adblock

i saw recent patch and it got easily bypassed not even 12 hours after
