Can someone shoot down these drones already?
I'm getting tired of hearing about them.

I'm not American but just heard about the news today. My country has the laws that drove cannot be used in certain areas to the point that it's in parks only. I think America needs to find a reason to shoot them down even if there isn't quite a law against them for now and base it on homeland security.

I could wreck them in two seconds with access to military equipment we had almost 20 years ago. And it was old back then. RFD and RDF are not new technologies, and it's not like drones are particularly stealthy on the EM spectrum. They require a lot of data transmission to control, so if they're using military frequencies, you just shut down each one until you find the signal. It really does take seconds.

If they'e on civilian bandwidths, this is a bit harder, because you can't just shut down all their traffic, even for a few seconds. But if you can SEE the drone just point a direction antennae at it, or fly your own drone very close to it. That drone will be the "loudest" thing an oscilloscope detects at that range or focus. Great! Now we know which carrier waves it is using, and what its transmission pattern is!

From there, we can easily RDF the operator, and pinpoint their exact location.

The fact that Russia has trouble doing this in open country speaks volumes about their utter lack of military capability. Israel, by contrast, is very advanced, but it has trouble with bigger, faster, ballistic drones because they ARE using long-range civvie carrier waves, usually AM band, and they don't have missiles that can isolate the signal. That's a bit of a tough ask for a missile without making it very expensive, but they DO know where the drones are coming from.

Russia either doesn't know, or doesn't have artillery prepared to blow the living hell out of an entire grid square the second they pick up that signal. Given their largesse with artillery, I'm inclined to believe that they just don't have the detection systems, and.or they lack the personnel to operate them.

So what are all these drones doing over US bases? Most likely, they're ours. Everyone is egging out over drone warfare, and naturally, the US is best at it. We train our troops and gear against ourselves all the time because nobody else comes close. It would be easy to conduct military exercises with drones over our own bases, and create a little incentive for defense spending, and train ECM/ECCM warfare bubbas, by just pretending that we don't know where these drones came from.

Alternatively, and I think this is less likely, but still very possible, the Biden administration is just permitting drone overflights of sensitive areas because there is an agenda on the Left to give zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about national security and gain new allies, like the lovely Iran and China.

One way or another, we have the capacity to stop these drones, and those enemies aren't really serious threats to us. What are they gonna see on a US military base that isn't already on publically available? The really secret stuff, we don't keep in the open. Hell, I can only tell everyone about our RFD stuff now because it was declassified in, like, the 80's or something. It's ancient tech.

Nah. Didn't you hear? They arrested those two guys in Boston. It was all their fault that there have been dozens and dozens of super-sized drones flying up and down the Eastern Seaboard.

Because that makes complete sense.
That article is walking a line on what is a "drone."

The drones those men were operating are not like the drones in the news.

Also, to others posting...

Bullets that go up, come down. The East Coast is extremely populated.

The drones aren't giving off electromagnet signatures or heat signatures.

They aren't your little drones you all are thinking about at all. These are massive drones like the military uses and they can hover.

We don't have anything deployed like these drones.

The military base was shut down, which is a HUGE deal.

These drones are flying extremely high sometimes. Above clouds even.

Roughly fifty were seen previously flying from the ocean into land.

Also police said that they can`t track them with thermal imaging cameras because they don`t emit any heat. Any normal drone or aircraft will emit heat from the engines.

not the easiest to shoot down

It's very easy to shoot them down.

Cause it's a government contract (guessing), the people of NJ, USA will just have to put it with it.

Or maybe you are right and they are so high up, and using a spectrum band that nobody has ever used before, (cause it's bell labs n00bs).

Relax humans, it's only our scouting network relay keeping an eye on Alien hybrids.

Why not get another drone and use it to ram these unaccounted drones?

So much rubbish up in the skies i wouldn't take any notice.

They tried to get close with police drones to identify them but they were faster and easily dodged police drones.

I don't understand why they don't knock down the drones as America shot down the balloon from China in the past. Understandable they don't have the laws/protocols in place but are they going to wait for that to happen?

With drones, there are electro-magnetic pulse weapons that are like rifles. It jams the signal to make it perform an emergency fall (which is slow and safe) or return to base.

Here is a demonstration by Ukraine:
