Why can't I pick a game to play ?
I am just wonder whether anyone else has this trouble whether it's every now and again or if it's a consistent problem.

I'm 26 years old, working full time and have 2 kids so my time gaming is really limited but when I do get the time to play for an hour or so I just freeze and I just do not know what to play. However when I do eventually choose a game I barely get passed the hour mark where I either get bored or I feel like I am wasting my time on a game I could be enjoying.

I know when you were a kid that you could choose a game easily and play all night and it had that certain addictive nature to video games back then whether I was playing Crysis, Far Cry, Mafia and all the other classic games.

I just don't feel as engaged as I once used to be however I still love to game but spend most of my time whatching games on YouTube than I do playing them, I was wondering whether anyone else has this feeling

I can only say that games today pursue third-party interests, economic and socio-political, which do not correspond to the attitudes of the players. This creates internal resistance or so-called dissonance in the players. Home-made sales barriers of the developers.

EVERY DAY! 😆

500 games and nothing to play.
When I was younger it was 500 channels and nothings on.

I suggest you make a list of all the games you own that you did not finish yet, and then sort them in alphabetical order. Go down the list one at a time, if you find your mind wandering, you gotta slap yourself out of it.

You should avoid games that take forever to complete.

I suggest saving this website at the bottom of my post so you can avoid buying games that you don't have enough time to complete. You can search for how long it takes in general to finish any video game.

If you have a game that takes over 100 hour to beat, you might wanna skip to the next game you have. For games you got that "I'm bored feeling" just skip that game too and go to the next one on the list.

... and then there's the fact that many games are simply carelessly executed and remain unfinished for years or certain content is held back for years. The player realises this and is no longer interested. The industry is overrated.

I go through phases where sometimes I play one genre but then switch fast or stick with one genre for a while.

Axiety or stress is my guess.

I recommend doing some exercise or/and mindfullness/yoga before playing.
