Also aint no one paying for my college but me, I don't know why the responsibility for that is on the parents in America, yeah it's nice to give your kids a helping hand and a good head start if you can afford it, but realistically you're better off getting your kid into a trade they're almost guaranteed to be better off.

Depends on a lot of factors, where you live, there isnt really a clean answer. You'll have to ask around with friends and family about the average food cost(how much their children eat at different ages) as well as look into clothing costs just for the early years, plus insurance and increased overall water and electricty use, especially the former. It also depends on your household, one with a large amount of chores can help cover cleaning and repair costs for example.

It depends on the quality of childhood I.e. public school and medical vs private.

My daughter goes to a private school and all the parents are "well off" in the higher income bracket. Catholic schools would be middle costs whilst public is the most affordable option.

The kindergarten (in the private school) my daughter goes to is roughly AUD$30-$35k a year but it goes up once she even started first grade and grows in teen years of education.

Europe is quite affordable, at least for education and healthcare, but I don't think the same applies to the USA

It really depends on how much daycare cost in your area. The rest of the children needs are not that expensive.

Yeah I'm not sure what they factored in to get that estimate, because a child wont have much impact on rent and bills which you'd be paying anyway generally they only cost more for food, clothes, school fees etc but I guess if you have one of those sick kids who needs medication or glasses or braces or whatever it would be more.
