Napoleonic Fantasy?
As a child, I have been obsessed with the fantasy genre since I saw the lord of the rings movies as a small boy, and as I've gotten older became a big fan of warfare from the past centuries with a special hyperfixation on early gunpowder/ line warfare.

Now a days as a hobbyist gamemaker/writer I've bee interested in making an intersection of the two so I wanted to ask the steam forums for their knowledge/opinions.

Does anyone here know a example of Napoleonic high fantasy? I've seen guns in fantasy before but I dont think I've ever seen a fantasy world that looks and operates like it is the 1800s especially in a military sense, I would love to find something like that though; especially to help with research.

It's informally called "flintlock fantasy".

Also I guess some "steampunk" has magic as well as the fancy machines.

I really need to watch Bill and Ted one of these days.
can think of two books. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke and Naomi Novik's Temeraire series

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

The Series Sharpe's Rifles

And look up the Game Holdfast Nations at War.

I know these don't really hit that Fantasy aspect but they cover the period you might enjoy them regardless.

There was a Steampunk game called Space 1889 - might be good for bit of extra inspiration.
They made a pc game which was horrible to play with its interface and a real in person RPG type of game, I used it as bit of inspiration on some of my things.
As others have said, what you're looking for is flintlock fantasy. Never really read anything in the genre but there are a bunch of books and I'm sure there are also games in the genre.
I'm good. My bloodline burnt down the white house in 1812.

Being a short man riding a tall horse without anyone questioning how I managed to get on the horse in the first place. Just appreciate who I am, my personal accomplishments, how distinguished I look on a horse (side view), and all that I have done for my country. Forget everything else, it's irrelevant.

But it's more steampunk like rather than classic high fantasy

I see a lot of good suggestions here as well as things I have never heard of before.

I particulary am interested in this series as I would like to see how this author thinks airborne cavalry would work in conjuction with other military branches.

I have read all the Sharpe books and love them dearly, even the starbuck books to a lesser degree. but video game wise I prefer doing commander battles in napoleonic wars or playing War of rights for the line experience.

The pictures from that look like it might be a bit too gonzo for me but I collect RPG books and I would love to pad my book case.
