Never had one (NES/SNES/PSX kid in the 80s/90s), because the cost was prohibitive and the software library a joke, but it was an absolute powerhouse. Just impractical as hell as an investment for home entertainment.
You had to be super-rich (200 dollars for a game, which would be 500 today...) and in the end games like Super Mario World or Legend of Zelda were stil better than anything on the Neo Geo, regardless of latters technical superiority.
sort of related, years ago my steam profile pic was ai from neo geo battle coliseum for quite awhile.
aye, thats ai! shes cute, i like when female characters wear ballcaps. not very common, but always cute looking
Sure, my preferred version of one of my top sports games of all time, 2020 Baseball, has way better music and more frames of animations in the AES or CD version. But actual game play isn't enough better than the SNES version for me to drop the extra costs on.
All Neo Geo games i recommend putting it on max speed.
You sit on the Throne of LIES!
I do not, it had better processing and better graphics. The ONLY kids that would not admit SNES was better were the ones that could not afford to have both or whatever, those who were stuck with hand me down genesis or the next addition SEGA put on SALE.
