Grand Theft Auto V
Needless to say, I am very excited about this game. Played a ton on Xbox 360, upgraded to PC, didn't bother with Xbone, now it's coming out Jan 27 I hear. Here's the topic. Pre order on an outside thing like gamestop or something. Or, Steam hurries up and pre order it from Steam. I am an avid Steam lover, I spend too much time on it already, and I'd hate to have to buy an outside game. But on the other hand, what if Steam doesn't release pre order in time and I miss the chance to get the pre order bonus things? It's like, 1 million dollars in game I believe (I spend a ton on online mode). I just want to know what you guys are planning on doing.

I saw some video of the first person mode and it is far better than what I figured it would be. They put a lot of effort into the change of perspective. You can tell that it isn't an afterthought at all.
Yeah, I play the game on Xbox so I can vouch for the quality, it's pretty damn awesome, and it works in literally every vehicle there is. Plus, first person ragdolls makes it even more entertaining to throw yourself off of things.
My favorite vehicles were always motorcycles. Sawed off shotgun on a pimped out motorcycle, you can be pretty invincible.

Yeah, the motorcycle views are really good, not too hard to control either.
Modding...
Has anyone heard anything about modding? I'm going to go crazy if this is open to the workshop.

No news, I bet they'll do something involving mods considering GTA online and all.
Well I doubt online. How would they do that? Someone could mod in a button that gives infinite cash.. Maybe they'll have some sort of approval system? Have they done that for a game?

I don't think so. But considering the hacks in last gen GTA online, and know it'll be even worse in the PC version, I'm predicting they'll do some sort of countermeasure. Such as preventing you from playing GTA online with mods installed, or going to lobbies which have players with the same mods..etc.
Wouldn't it be easier to just restrict mods to offline mode? I'm sure they could do that.

But then what would be the purpose of GTA online? But knowing rockstar they'll probably will. But with the development of five:MP, we'll still live the glory days of GTA online. Just on a different platform.

I'm personally waiting for the RP servers that'll pull me back in.
Back when I played, personally, online was much more fun than offline, just because the players and the competition and the friends. If offline was open to mods, then it would probably even out, making offline and online equal in entertainment.

Yeah I suppose. I'm just hoping Rockstar won't use VAC for GTA 5, otherwise we can kiss modding goodbye.
We can also kiss cheat engine goodbye, which would deter a ton of kiddies.

u can make 100s of millions on each character using the stock market during the story mode if u follow the right guides on how to do so, i wouldnt be too worried about a million :D
I'm more worried about online mode. In online mode the stock market is disabled, last time I played, that is.
For anyone still interested, it's been delayed until march. Saw it coming though.
Sound interesting this game!

Saw it after being excited about the system requirements being released and totally broke my heart. I just hope they have a good idea of the effects of their poor decisions have on their fan base.

You know what would have caused more damage? A buggy release. They felt that the game needed more work. The game will have a better launch as a result. This is not a "poor" decision.

It's not necessarily a poor decison. It's a great decision to polish it off, had the same opinion the first time they did it for console. But it is bad planning. It's happened twice, they put an early release that they aren't ready to push out.

Naw, I totally get you. It would be worse if they released it buggy, but what pisses me off is the seemingly lack of planning on Rockstar's part - as Razznak said - and all of the "extra content" that they are adding when they could have been working on the base game!

Seems like a lifetime ago that they said it would be coming in Fall 2014...
