Avenged Sevenfold is overrated
I feel like I'm the only one who personally thinks that this band just plain sucks, and its a band that wannabe metal fans like. There songs are soft, almost take no skill to play and people act as if that they are pioneers of the Nu Metal age. I strongly disagree. I personally think that the two front runners are Pantera and early Slipknot (after Iowa Slipknot has gone down in terms of great and heavy music but they are still ok nowadays). I personally just don't get all of the hype for this band. Does anyone agree?

Ah yes, back when I was a teen and cared if a girl listened to metal and if she did she would always name bands like Korn, Disturbed, or some other Nu Metal band. I HATED Nu Metal. Now, I don't care what people listen to. I actually am surprised though and pleased. People who say they listen to metal now, do listen to the older bands and bands outside of Nu Metal and Metal itself has had a resurgence, but Nu Metal has not. Also, this is a good excuse ot post a Mercyful Fate song, so here you go.

You know your getting old when kids are having the discussions you had when you were still in high school.

A7X is not metal. Maybe early A7X when Matt Shadows screamed, but even then it was like when Dave Matthews did a rebel yell. Metal isnt some swan song to red necks like A7X and Five Finger Death Punch act like it is.
"America....METAL SCREAM! We love our cops!" thats not metal. thats not punk. Its not even hard rock but propaganda music isnt a genre so both Avenged Sevenfold AS WELL AS BANDS LIKE Five Finger Death Punch are classified as Hard Rock at most.

Not saying they are bad, its just that they arent the best or even the middle best.
