murder ok, sex bad?
why is it gabe himself put a nihilistic, cold blooded murder simulator like hatred back on the store.

but a game with some sex in it gets banned?
and not even real people, cartoon people.

why is a game where one guy goes around murdering innocents because he feels like it ok, but a dating game where two people have sex, one of the most natural acts there, without which none of us would even be here, not suitable?

is steam for adults or not?
if it is, then why so squeemish about sex but not cold blooded murder?
given the choice i know what i'd prefer happen to me.

or steam isn't for adult, in which case why is hatred allowed?

it makes no sense.

why would gabe get all gung ho for freedom of speech for gun violence and murder, but let sex be outlawed here.

except for The Witcher, too much money in that one to ban it because of the sex i guess.

but a game from an indie dev?
yeah screw them, don't make nearly as much money off them so who cares right?

People DID freak out about Postal. When it came out. Maybe not when it came to Steam but it definitely caused some crap when it came out and certain retailers did not carry it.
But now there are people freaking out about everything that offends them in the least.

Perhaps, it is the broader segment of society becoming aware of past crimes and seeking to make reparitions and avoid repeating the past?

I just say "hurr durr postal" and all of a sudden it evolves into a "vylennce een video gaymes" argument.

Yea... I know. I honestly couldn't care less about Hatred. All it is a crappy game pushing a very specific theme to generate controversy and put the devs name on the map when they don't have the ability to make a decent enough game to do it.

Oh god, just saying Postal on this thread turns into a ful scale argument.
Help me

Repeating what past? I doubt Postal caused any school shootings.

Of course not. Postal is impotent, escapist edgelordery.

Actually, there is sex in some games on Steam. Ever play Lucius?

The game's sole purpose was to kill people.
Yet no one gives 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ when Postal came on Steam.
Nobody freaked out about media back then.
Jack Thompson? People did blame media back then. Maybe you just weren't old enough to remember it? I remember Marilyn Manson being blamed. I remember GTA 1 being blamed. I remember Doom being blamed. I remember countless other games and musicians being blamed for the downfall of society. I wasn't around back then but Elvis was considered by many to be obscene and was corrupting the youth of America. People have been freaking out about media for years.

This is actually true. People use scapegoats....why? Because it is easy and requires little to no thought or energy. And every fool on the planet loves scapegoats.

I could check screenshots and pull up a few sex scenes in games, if you wanted. But all I would get from that is maybe a ban.

Not for any real length of time, because it is a bad game.

It would be a good game if all it had in it was sex scenes?

Given that the definiton of a game requires some degree of player input, I would say that it wouldn't be a game then, strictly speaking.

Now, if you're asking if the overall quality of the product would be improved, the answer is "Probably not, pornography makes for poor supernatural thriller material."

Because one is more fun than the other.

I'd actually attribute it to America's Puritan/Protestant roots.
